Men Take 11th, Women 12th At The IC4A Championships

AMHERST, Mass. - The men and women's cross country teams concluded their seasons with an 11th and 12th place finish, respectively. The men raced in the IC4A Championships while the women ran at the ECAC Championships. The men were led by Jesse Regnier (Hampden, Mass.), who finished 22nd overall with a time of 25:50.7. The women were paced by Chrisitna DeRosa (Sound Beach, N.Y.) who ran to an 18th place finish with a time of 18:36.7.
Freshman Andrew McCann and sophomore Josh Boone (Gardner, Mass) finished 32nd and 76th respecitively to record their third straight top five finish of the season. Rounding out the top five for the Minutemen were Juniors Nils Fischer (Stow, Mass.) and Ryan Durkin (Andover, Mass.) who finished 92nd and 110th, respectively, in a field of 146. With their top five finishes, Fischer and Durkin end the season having finished in the top five for the Minutemen in every race they competed in this season. Fischer finished no lower than 2nd all season, until this race.
Freshman Eilis Kierans (Newbury, Mass.) finished second on the team for the second straight race, ahead of her sister, Cuisle Kierans (Newbury, Mass.). Eilis Kierans finished in 52nd while Cuisle Kierans took 67th with times of 19:20.1 and 19:40.7, respectively. Juniors Amber Sayer (Amherst, Mass.) and Taryn Trapp (Nampa, Idaho) capped off the top five for the Minutewomen finishing 76th and 97th, respectively. Cuisle Kierans finished in the top five for the Minutewomen in every raced she competed, while Taryn Trapp and Eilis Kierans only missed the top five once all season.
The men's and women's cross country teams will graduate two seniors. The men graduate Walter Biner (Scotch Plains, N.J.) and Aaron Strellner (Highland Park, Ill.), while the women graduate Cuisle Kierans and Erin O'Donnell (Reading, Mass.). Those coming back for the indoor track season will see competition next on January 17th at the Boston University Quad Meet.
