UMass Women Drop Meet Against Central Connecticut

NEW BRITAIN, Conn. - The women had their second dual meet in as many days as they traveled to face Central Connecticut on Sunday. UMass took first in three events as they lost 174-126.
For the second conecutive meet, Karen Upperco (Titusville, N.J.) won both diving events. She earned 241.49 points in the one-meter event and 266.77 points in the three meter event.
UMass performed well overall in the diving events. In the one-meter, Mary Jenkins (Acton, Mass.) took second with 238.12 points and Melissa Pond (Wayland, Mass.) took third with 212.32 points. Pond also took second in the three-meter event (242.85).
Nicole LeBarge (Lee, N.H.) took first in the 50-yard free as she finished in 24.98 and also finished third in the 100-yard free (55.41).
Both the women and the men return to action on January 28, 2006 as they host Fordham.
