Cross Country Teams Host Vermont/Maine On Saturday Morning

AMHERST, Mass. - Due to construction of the new North Residential Area dorms on the University of Massachusetts campus, the men's and women's cross country teams will host Vermont and Maine at Amherst College on Saturday morning. The meet will begin at 11:30 a.m. with the women's race, followed by the men's race at approximately 11:45 a.m.
Sophomore Christina Derosa (Sound Beach, N.Y.) leads the Minutewomen as she was the top finisher last weekend at Dartmouth marking the seventh consecutive race she was the top UMass runner.
The men's team was led by sophomore Nils Fischer (Stow, Mass.) who finished 10th at Dartmouth last weekend.
Last season, the women's team won the meet defeating second-place Vermont by two points (29-to-31). The men's team took second to Maine who won by a three-point margin, 29-to-32.
Directions To The Amherst College Cross Country Course
• At the corner of Routes 9 and 116, turn onto Route 116 SOUTH.
• Once on Route 116, take the THIRD LEFT (counting the Do Not Enter) into the athletic complex.
• Immediately past the Orr Rink lot, the road forks. Take it to the RIGHT, going down the hill and under LeFrak Gymnasium.
• Once under LeFrak Gymnasium, Memorial Field is immediately in front of you. For Hitchcock Field and the Tennis Courts, follow the road down to the lower parking area.
