Tennis Earns No. 1 Seed For Atlantic 10 Tournament

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The University of Massachusetts tennis team (15-6, 4-0 A-10) were chosen as the No. 1 seed in the Atlantic 10 Tournament, voted by the coaches last night. The three-day championship begins today at The Tennis Center.
The Minutewomen, battling for their first A-10 crown since 2001, received a bye in the first round, along with No. 2 Richmond, No. 3 Xavier, and No. 4 Temple. They will square off later in the day at 1:00 PM, against the winner of the No. 9 Saint Joseph's and No. 8 Duquesne match, which began at 8:00 AM this morning.
The Minutewomen finished the regular season with their best record since 2001, when they finished 20-8.
