UMass Women's Basketball Preseason Diary Entry 4: Tamara Tatham

It's been a very intense week of practice and tonight we got the chance to see where we are at. We are happy to be playing against another team rather than each other. We played an exhibition game vs. Simon Fraser Friday night and they definitely ran the ball up the court. We were able to get the ball in the basket, rebound well, dominate the paint and run with them for the most part. We came out on top in the end but we still have to keep working harder to be where we want to be with conditioning and chemistry. We have come a long way and are certainly moving in the right direction.
Now it is time for us to shape up what may be a little rusty and continue doing what we know we can do. Our next challenge is a scrimmage against Northeastern who we beat last year in a scrimmage. We never take our opponent for granted because anything can happen. We just need to stay mentally focused on what needs to be done and and hopefully we'll come out on top once again.

NOTE: This is the third in a series of diary entries leading up to the start of the regular season Nov. 18. For the next few weeks, a different player will submit an entry every couple of days talking about what the team is doing to prepare for the start of the season.
