Men's Swimming and Diving Announces Team Awards

AMHERST, Mass. - The 2004 Atlantic 10 Champion Men's Swimming and Diving Team held their annual awards banquet on Friday, April 30, in the Massachusetts Room of the Mullins Center on the UMass campus.
Over 120 people helped the Minutemen celebrate their fourth consecutive championship. Individual awards were given to all team members commemorating this year's victory. Seniors Logan Alomar, Sean Collins, Pete Tawczynski, and Conner Townsend received special recognition as graduating student-athletes.
Individual awards recipients were as follows:
MVP Jr. Justin Zeimitz (Rochester, N.H.) Minuteman Jr. Owen Scollan (Lowell, Mass.) Most Improved Fr. Mike Herald (Chambersburg, Pa.) and Fr. Evan Swisher (N. Bennington, Vt.) S.T.U.D. Fr. Andrew Pokorny-Campbell (Gladwyne, Pa.) Diver Dude Sr. Logan Alomar (Silver Spring, Md.) Rookie of the Year Fr. Greg Chartier (Amherst, Mass.) Iron Man Jr. Dylan Smith (Timmonium, Md.) and Sr. Conner Townsend (Memphis, Tenn.) Coaches' Award Jr. Ryan Matthews (Rumson, N.J.)
Also announced at the banquet were the captains elect for the 2004-05 season were also announced. Smith and Scollan will fulfill those duties, taking over for Townsend, Pete Tawczynski (Holden, Mass.) and Sean Collins (North Reading, Mass.), who will all be graduating.
