Myers And Anzelone Earn Weekly Honors

AMHERST, Mass. - University of Massachusetts senior men's soccer player Ptah Myers (Columbus, Ohio) and senior women's cross-country runner Alexis Anzelone (Westfield, N.J.) both earned Player of the Week honors in their respective sports, announced by the Atlantic 10 Conference Monday.

Myers tallied three goals in two wins for Massachusetts, including the game-winning goal in double-overtime on Sept. 20 versus Siena. His other two goals came in a 5-1 victory over Boston University on Sept. 17. Myers leads the Minutemen with nine points on the season.

Anzelone was the top Massachusetts runner at the Ted Owen Invitational at Central Connecticut State on Sept. 20, placing 14th with a time of 18:52.9. The Minutewomen finished seventh overall in the meet.

Both the men's soccer team and men's and women's cross country teams will be in action next on Saturday, Sept. 27. Myers and the Minutemen travel to UNH to take on the Wildcats at 5:00 p.m., while cross country runs in the Orange Cross Country Classic at Syracuse University, at 11:00 a.m.
