Allery Places Seventh In 1-Meter Dive

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- University of Massachusetts senior diver Kate Allery (South Hadley, Mass.) placed seventh in the one-meter dive at the NCAA Zone A Regionals held in Buffalo, N.Y,. March 13-15.
Allery earned a spot in the finals when she tallied 232.80 points in the preliminary round and then secured seventh place with a total of 478.25 points after the finals.
Earlier this weekend Allery claimed sixth place in the three-meter dive when she recorded 429.25 points.
Mary Campioli of George Mason placed first with 512.00 points, while Melanie Loftus of Yale finished second (509.90) and Delaware's Julie Van Deusen placed third (498.30).
Buffalo, N.Y. hosted one of five diving regionals stationed around the country. A total of 41 divers will qualify for the NCAA Division I Women's Swimming and Diving Championships held at Auburn University March 20-22.
