Track Finishes Second At Dartmouth

HANOVER, N.H. -- The Massachusetts women's indoor track and field team finished second in a six team meet hosted by Dartmouth on Saturday. UMass, who finished with 134.50 points, finished behind Dartmouth, who tallied 185.50 points. Williams College finished third with 113 points, UMass-Lowell was fourth with 71 points, Keene State was fifth with 28 points and RPI was six with 12 points.

The Minutewomen were led by junior Brandy Green (Fitchburg, Mass.), who tied the school record at 12'0" in the pole vault. Green set the school record last season. Green also placed second in the 60-meter hurdles at 9.21.

Also placing first for Massachusetts was senior Jen Freemas (Wallingford, Pa.). Freemas won the 500-meter run at 1:18.53.

Christina Huff (Springfield, Mass.) tallied two second place finishes for the Minutewomen, placing second in both the 60-meter dash (7.79) and 200-meter dash (26.20). Sara Johnson (Providence, R.I.) finished second in the weight throw at 46' 7-1/4" and Kay Callahan (Bangkok, Thailand) finished third in the triple jump at 35' 11-1/4".

The Minutewomen will next compete at the Valentine Invitational in Boston, Mass. on Feb. 14-15.
