UMass Track Competes At Valentine Invitational

BOSTON, Mass. -- The Massachusetts women's indoor track and field team tallied several solid individual performances at the Valentine Invitational Feb. 14-15 in Boston, Mass., including two third place finishes.
Sophomore Loren Donohue (Millbrook, N.Y.) and junior Brandy Green (Fitchburg, Mass.) both captured third place in their respective events, with Donohue placing third in the 800-meter run at 2:23.46 and Green taking third place in the pole vault at 11' 7-3/4".
The Minutewomen also received solid performances from senior Katherine Blais (Andover, Mass.), freshman Ashley Creel (Sandwich, Mass.), sophomore Christina Huff (Springfield, Mass.) and junior Sara Johnson (Providence, R.I.). Creel finished fifth in the high jump at 5' 4-1/4" and Johnson finished in sixth place in the weight throw at 45 7-3/4", while Blais and Huff claimed finished seventh in the 1,000-meter run (3:01.18) and 200-meter dash (25.31), respectively.
UMass will next compete on Feb. 22 when they travel to Rhode Island for the A-10 Indoor Championships.
