AMHERST, Mass. -- Massachusetts senior diver Kate Allery (South Hadley, Mass.) was named the Division I Women's Diver of the Week by the Eastern College Athletic Conference for the week ending Feb. 9. Allery receives this honor after breaking the UMass record in the 1-meter dive with a total of 288.43 points against Boston College on Feb .8.

Allery set the previous school record in the 1-meter dive last season when she tallied 287.02 points against St. John's University.

The senior diver also won the 3-meter dive against Boston College, tallying a score of 260.47. Her efforts over the weekend also earned her the honors of Atlantic 10 Women's Swimming and Diving Performer of the Week. This was the second time this season she earned the conference honor, the first time coming on Jan. 20.

Allery, who also holds the school record in the 3-meter dive with 291.00 points, will next compete at the Atlantic 10 Championships on Feb. 20-22 in Buffalo, N.Y.
