AMHERST, Mass. -- Massachusetts sophomore track and field performer, Christina Huff (Springfield, Mass.) and senior skier Carolyn Lewenberg (Newton, Mass.), were named Dinn Brothers UMass Athletes of the Week by the UMass Sports Luncheon Committee for the week ending Jan. 19.

Huff place first in both the 55-meter and the 200-meter in a quadrangular meet against Boston College, Boston University and Sacred Heart, recording times of 7.41 and 25.69, respectively. Her efforts helped UMass defeat both BU and Sacred Heart, falling to only Boston College.

Through UMass' first two meets Huff has won three events, claiming first in the 55-meter twice and the 200-meter once. Huff's first win in the 55-meter came on Dec. 6 against BU, CCSU, Maine, New Hampshire and Providence.

Lewenberg skied to a first place finish in the slalom with a time of 1:40.74, topping a field of 64 competitors at the UMass Carnival at Berkshire East in Charlemont, Mass. She was also the fourth-fastest woman in the giant slalom with a time of 1:38.94, finishing just three and a half seconds behind the winner.

Lewenberg's efforts helped propel the Minutewomen to a first-place team finish in both events, as well as the top of the standings in the Eastern Collegiate Skiing Conference.

Huff and Lewenberg will next compete on Jan. 25 when the track and field team travels to New Hampshire to compete against UNH and Holy Cross, and the ski team heads to New Hampshire for the Plymouth State College Carnival.
