Minutemen Drop A-10 Game To Rhode Island

AMHERST, Mass. (AP) - Dawan Robinson scored 16 points and Rhode Island scored the last six points of the game on Wednesday night for a 60-53 win over Massachusetts.
Massachusetts (6-9, 0-3 in the Atlantic 10) led 49-48 on a breakaway basket by Anthony Anderson with 5:52 to play.
But Brian Woodward hit his second 3-pointer to put Rhode Island (10-4, 2-1) on top for good. Woodward finished with 14 points.
Jackie Rogers led the Minutemen with 15 points, while Jeff Viggiano and Raheim Lamb had 10 apiece.
The first half was a game of spurts, with UMass getting nine straight points to build an early 15-4 lead.
After trailing 20-6, Rhode Island countered with a 14-0 run to tie the game at 20-20. Robinson scored eight in the run.
Mike Lasme followed with a 3-pointer for UMass and the Minutemen led for the rest of the half and took a 30-27 halftime lead.
