Women's Tennis Falls To Brown, 7-0

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The University of Massachusetts women's tennis team was swept by Brown this afternoon, 7-0. The Minutewomen drop to 1-4 overall this season.
Sophomore Jafra Depontes (Kaliua-Kona, Hawaii) was the only UMass player to win a singles game from her opponent as she fell to Adviar Marianelle at second singles, 6-4, 2-6, 2-10.
The Minutewomen lost the doubles point, but the tandem of senior Helena Horak (Westlake Village, Calif.) and sophomore Susan Hyams (Cincinnati, Ohio) were victorious at No. 2, 8-5.
The Minutewomen travel to Hanover, N.H., for a 7:00 p.m. match with Dartmouth on Feb. 28.
