Women's Tennis Drops Close Match To Colgate, 4-3

HAMILTON, N.Y. -- The University of Massachusetts women's tennis team (2-4) fell to Colgate this afternoon, 4-3.
The Minutewomen won the doubles point as the No. 1 and 2 tandems of sophomore Jafra Depontes (Kaliua-Kona, Hawaii) and freshman Stephanie Price (Columbia, Mo.) as well as sophomore Susan Hyams (Cincinnati, Ohio) and senior Helena Horak (Westlake Village, Calif.) won by scores of 8-6 and 9-7, respectively.
In singles, Depontes and Price were each victorious at No. 1 and 2. Depontes beat Marissa Alikpala, 6-3, 6-1, while Price topped Lauren Erikson, 6-4, 3-6, 6-4.
The Minutewomen will travel to Providence, R.I., for a match with Brown Sunday, Feb. 24 at 12:00 p.m.
