Atlantic 10 Coaches Forecast The Winter Season

AMHERST, Mass. -- In the conference's preseason polls the Atlantic 10 coaches named the Massachusetts' men's swimming and diving team as co-favorites in the league, tied with St. Bonaventure for the No.1 ranking. The women's swimming and diving team was ranked No.4 in the A-10, and the women's indoor track and field team was selected as the No.2 team.
Last season the men's swimming and diving team finished first in the conference, winning the Atlantic 10 Championship. Tied with UMass in the preseason poll is St. Bonaventure, who finished second in the A-10 last season.
The women's swimming and diving team, picked as the early favorite to finish fourth in the conference, placed fourth in the A-10 Championships last season. The conference coaches selected Richmond as the preseason favorite in the A-10, with St. Bonaventure at No. 2 and George Washington at No.3.
Selected as No.2 in the early rankings, the UMass women's track and field team is picked to finish behind No.1 Rhode Island. Last year Rhode Island won the conference while Massachusetts finished seventh. Rounding out the top three is Richmond, who finished third in the A-10 last season.
