PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - Redshirt freshman free safety Shannon James (Stratford, Conn.), a member of the University of Massachusetts football team, has been selected as the Atlantic 10 Conference Rookie of the Week, for games of Oct. 26. For the season, he now ranks third on the team in total tackles with 71, including 51 solo stops. James is also tied for the team lead in interceptions with three.
UMass (6-2 overall, 4-1 Atlantic 10) returns to action on Saturday, November 2, when it plays host to Delaware (5 4 overall, 3-3 Atlantic 10) in a 12:00 p.m. game at McGuirk Alumni Stadium.
