Women's Tennis Sweeps Fordham

AMHERST, Mass. - The University of Massachusetts women's tennis team improved to 3-0 in the Atlantic 10 by way of its 7-0 sweep of Fordham Tuesday at the Upper Boyden Courts. With their fifth consecutive win, the Minutewomen improve to 15-6 this season.
In singles, all six Minutewomen easily advanced. Junior Annie Hamilton (Plano, Texas) and freshman Susan Hyams (Cincinnati, Ohio) continued their red hot play with 6-0, 6-4 and 6-2, 6-0 wins, respectively. Hamilton is now 4-1 from the No. 3 spot, while Hyams is 10-4 overall.
In doubles action, UMass won all three matches. The tandem of Hamilton and freshman Francesca Mancini (Milan, Italy) won its fifth straight desicion at No. 1 since being paired up together.
The Minutewomen continue their homestand this afternoon when they host the Rams of Rhode Island at the Upper Boyden Courts. The match is set for 3:00 p.m.
