Women's Tennis Tops Broward Community College, 7-2

FORT LAUDERDALE, FLA. -- The University of Massachusetts women's tennis team got back on the winning track yesterday as they defeated Broward Community College, 7-2 , to improve to 9-4 on the season.
UMass took control of the match early as they took five out of six singles matches. Juniors Lindsey Gillooly (Stoughton, Mass.) and Helena Horak (Westlake Village, Calif.) picked up wins, as well as freshmen Jafra Depontes (Kaliua-Kona, Hawaii), Francesca Mancini (Milan, Italy) and Susan Hyams (Cincinnati, Ohio).
In doubles, the tandem of Depontes and Gillooly, as well as Mancini and Larson won their matches.
The Minutewomen will continue its spring break trip Thursday, March 22, when they take on Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Fla.
