UMass Falls To Boston University 6-3

AMHERST, Mass. - The University of Massachusetts women's tennis team fell to the Terriers of Boston University today at the Upper Boyden Courts 6-3.
Freshman Francesca Mancini (Milan, Italy) backed up her recent UMass/WHMP Athlete of the Week nomination with a straight sets victory over BU's Christina Causway. UMass lost the other 5 matches, but junior Annie Hamilton (Plano, TX) and junior Lindsay Gillooly (Stoughton, Mass.) forced their matches to a decisive third set.
The UMass duo's of Mancini and Gilloly as well as junior Helena Horah (West Lake Village, CA) and freshman Susan Hyams (Cincinatti, OH) were victorious in their doubles matches. UMass went on to win two out of three doubles matches.
UMass returns to action when they visit Dartmouth College on Wednesday, Oct. 11 at 2:00 p.m.
