Women's Tennis To Open Up Fall Season

AMHERST, Mass. - The University of Massachusetts women's tennis team will open up 2000-2001 season play this weekend, when it travels to West Point, N.Y., to compete at the Eastern Tennis Championships from Sept. 15-17. Fifteen teams will be participating in the tournament, which will feature four singles flights and two doubles flights, in addition to consolation rounds.

UMass finished third at the Atlantic 10 Championships last year. Returning this year for the Minutewomen is junior Annie Hamilton (Plano, Texas), who paced the squad last season in both singles and doubles victories.
