Cisowski Competes at NCAA Cross Country Championship

Amherst, Mass. -- The University of Massachusetts junior Kristin Cisowski (Salem, N.H.) finished 137th at the Cross Country NCAA Championship Monday in Ames, Iowa. Cisowski is the second woman in school history to ever qualify for the NCAA national meet.

Cisowski finished with a time of 22:16 on the 6,000 meter course. University of Colorado took the team and individual titles with senior Kara Grgas-Wheeler coming in first with a time of 20:30.

With her performance, Cisowski was name Co-WHMP UMass Athlete of the Week along with senior football player, Marcel Shipp.

Cisowski earned the spot in the NCAA Championship by finishing 16th at the Northeast Regional with a time of 21:11 at Van Cortlandt Park in New York. Cisowski received the NCAA spot for finishing in the top four runners from non-qualifying teams.

With her performance, Cisowski was name Co-WHMP UMass Athlete of the Week along with senior football player, Marcel Shipp.
