BOSTON, Mass. -- Junior Andrea Kazanjian (Troy, N.Y.) won the 50 (24.83) and the 100 free (54.16), while freshman Christen Dexter (Centerville, Mass.) won the 100 (1:08.32) and 200 breast (2:25.78), as the University of Massachusetts women's swimming and diving team defeated Boston University, 165-132, Saturday afternoon With the win, the Minutewomen improve to 3-0 on the season.
Other UMass winners were sophomore Catherine Getty (Wayne, N.J.) in the 1000 free (11:02.66), freshman Lauren Rowell (Hamburg, N.Y.) in the 100 back (1:00.84), junior Becky Hunnewell (Sandwich, Mass.) in the 200 back (2:07.35) and junior Anne Dettloff (Barrington, Ill.) in the 500 free (5:13.42). The 200 medley relay team of Lauren Rowell, Dexter, freshman Diana Alberti (Wantagh, N.Y.) and Kazanjian finished first with a time of 1:51.58.
The Minutewomen return to the pool on Sunday, Nov. 12, when they host Northeastern at 12:00 p.m.
