Women's Track & Field Places Ninth At Husky Invitational

BOSTON - Senior Sharon Tillotson (Wantagh, N.Y.) placed fourth in the 3,000 meter run, leading UMass to a ninth place finish in the Northeastern Husky Invitational on Friday night. UConn won the event with 89 points, while the Minutewomen finished with 21.
Tillotson led a distance squad that performed very well in the meet, earning 10 of UMass' 21 points in three events. Senior Monica Elmore (Coldchester, Vt.) and Sophomore Kristin Cisowski (Salem, N.H.) both placed fifth in the 1,000 meters and the mile respectively.
Sophomore Rhianna DaCruz (Pawtucket, R.I.) continued a very strong sophomore campaign, placing fourth in the pole vault with a jump of 10' 4". Sophomore Johanna Lelke (Southboro, Mass.) finished one back of DaCruz in fifth place with a vault of 9' 10".
UMass will be back in action again next Saturday at Rhode Island with Holy Cross, Maryland and Providence.
