UP NEXT: Women?s tennis will next be in action on Tuesday at home against Amherst College at 3:30 p.m. The Minutewomen will also host a match on Friday versus Columbia at 3 p.m. Junior April Madani (Falmouth, Mass.) is 2-1 in singles in the fall, while the duo of sophomore Helena Horak (Westlake Village, Calif.) and freshman Katie Stammen (North Attleboro, Mass.) are 2-1 in doubles this campaign.
CLOSING IN ON 100: Head coach Judy Dixon (Southern California ?73) is closing in on her 100th UMass victory. Dixon, who is in her eighth season with the Minutewomen, needs just 10 more victories to record No. 100. She currently stands at 130-61 overall and 90-47 at UMass. Before coming to UMass, Dixon spent three seasons at Yale, where she was 40-14 overall.
FRESHMEN TRIO: Dixon has added three newcomers to her roster this season, Elizabeth Ebert (Westford, Mass.), Lauren Perry (Pembroke, Mass.) and Kathryn Stammen (North Attleboro, Mass.). Ebert was a Lowell Sun All-Star as a senior at Westford Academy. Perry compiled a .650 winning percentage at Silver Lake Regional H.S. Stammen went undefeated in her senior campaign, in addition to an impressive 65-1 regular-season record.
