Men's Cross Country Places Second At Vermont

BURLINGTON, Vt. ? The UMass men?s cross country team finished second with 66 points at the Vermont cross country meet in Burlington, Vt. Boston University won the event with 31 points, claiming the top two individual times. Albany came in third, followed by Central Connecticut and Vermont in fourth and fifth respectively.
A trio of sophomores paced the Minutemen, all finishing in the top 15 led by Ryan Corbett (Highland, N.Y.) who finished fifth overall with a time of 25:32. Kevin Curtin (Chelmsford, Mass.) was the second UMass runner to cross the finish line in 12th overall in 26:20. Umass? third fastest runner, David Prasse (Walpole, Mass.) finished 15th in 26:28. Senior Matthew Ely (Andover, Mass.) and junior Thomas Stuart (Canandaiqua, N.Y.) rounded out the scoring for the Minutemen, placing 16th and 18th respectively.
UMass cross country is off next weekend and will return to action on Saturday, Oct. 2 at the Meet of Champions in Bronx, N.Y.
