BRONX, N.Y. - The University of Massachusetts women's cross country team finished seventh at the NCAA Eastern Regional Qualifier on Saturday. Providence won the team championship with 70 pts., followed by Cornell (122 pts.) and Boston College (131 pts.).

Freshman Kristen Cisowski (Salem, N.H.) led the way for UMass, finishing 27th overall (18:25.1). Sophomore Melissa Henderson (Abington, Mass.) finished second for UMass, 46th overall (18:52.1). Junior Sally Hirsch (Brookline, Mass.) was the third Minutewoman to cross the finish, third overall, in a time of 18:53.5. Junior Sharon Tillotson (Wantagh, N.Y.) finished fourth, 65th overall (19:08.7), while senior Nicole Way (Marstons Mills, Mass.) rounded out the top five UMass runners, finishing 88th overall (19:31.8).

UMass finishes the season with the meet. The Minutewomen posted a 5-1 season record and won an unprecedented fourth consecutive Atlantic 10 Championship.
