BOSTON ? The UMass men?s cross country team finished 13th with 406 points at the annual New England Championships at Franklin Park in Boston. Brown won the event with 69 points followed by Boston College with 100 points. Providence, Keene State and Yale rounded out the top five.

Sophomore Ryan Corbett (Highland, N.Y.) led the Minuteman to the finish line for the third consecutive meet. Corbett finished 58th overall with a time of 25:40. Sophomore Colin Baughman (Sherril, N.Y.) ran to his best finish of the year, finishing just behind Corbett in 61st place overall with a time of 25:44. Senior Matthew Ely (Andover, Mass) coninued his strong season with a 85th place overall as the third UMass finisher in 26:00. Sophomores Kevin Curtin (Chelmsford, Mass.) and David Prasse (Walpole, Mass.) rounded out the scoring for the Minutemen placing 87th and 116th, respectively.

UMass cross country is off next weekend and will return to action on Saturday, Oct. 30 at the Atlantic 10 Championships in Philadelphia, Pa.
