Dowiak on Mendoza: Bella’s story for me is a different one: we didn’t have her on our radar at all until a tournament in spring 2019 where she happened to catch my eye in a warm up before one of her games. She just completely flew across the goal to make a save during warmups, so I decided to sit down and watch the rest of her warm up, watch her first game, and she blew me away. She is a fantastic shot stopper as a goalkeeper, but she suits the way that we play as good as any goalkeeper that I can imagine. She’s got great feet, she’s comfortable in distribution, she can play outside of her box.
