Associate Athletic Trainer Bob Kuzmeski oversees the support and care for the men's lacrosse and the men's and women's swimming and diving programs in 2020-21. Prior to his current role, Kuzmeski worked with the men's hockey and football teams. Kuzmeski came to UMass following a seven year stint as a science teacher and athletic trainer at the Eaglebrook School.
Bob received his bachelor's degree in health fitness with a concentration in athletic training in May 1988 from Springfield College. He received his master's degree in health science with a concentration in sports injury prevention and management from Springfield College in 1992. During that time, Kuzmeski was a teaching fellow and athletic trainer at Springfield College in Springfield, Mass. He was also an assistant athletic trainer for the U.S. Junior National Rowing Team from 1989-1992.
After receiving his master's degree, Kuzmeski was the head athletic trainer at Quinnipiac College in Hamden, Conn. He followed that up with a stint as an athletic trainer at Rehab West in Ludlow, Mass.
Bob has also served as a volunteer athletic trainer at the U.S. Olympic Committee Sports Medicine Program in Lake Placid, N.Y. He has worked as the host athletic trainer for a number of conference and national tournaments. Kuzmeski was an associate athletic trainer at the State University of New York at Oneonta from 1989 to 1991.
Kuzmeski is currently the co-director for the Springfield College Athletic Training Workshop and active in the local and regional youth lacrosse community, serving on various boards of directors.
Kuzmeski and his wife, Mary, have three children, Katie, John and Kevin. They reside in Hadley, Mass.
