John Martin was hired as the Men's Basketball Director of Scouting and Video Operations in June of 2022. Martin came to Amherst after working as a a student manager under Frank Martin during his undergraduate studies at South Carolina.
“I'm excited to add John Martin as our Director of Scouting and Video Operations,” said Frank Martin. "John is a wizard with modern technology and video. As my head manager at South Carolina, he also assisted our video department over the last three years. He is going to be a welcome addition and add tremendous value to our staff and players.”
With the Gamecocks, Martin assisted the team’s video coordinators with film and coding games and practices. Martin worked as an intern for the Princeton Men’s Basketball team during high school, where he began to learn video breakdown. The Florham Park, N.J. native also interned with MADE Hoops, an AAU Tournament service as well.
