Day joined Massachusetts Athletics in February, 2023 as the Head Football Athletic Trainer.
 

Prior to joining UMass, Day served as an Assistant Athletic Trainer for Merrimack College’s football team acting as the primary point of care for NCAA Division I Football, Women’s Ice Hockey and Bowling programs (September 2021-Present). She worked closely with the strength and conditioning staff to promote high mobility and injury prevention among student athletes. She organized medical appointments and screenings for injured athletes. Day also created and implemented mental health EPA’s and team mental health meetings. She was the mentor to six graduate assistant athletic trainers and she trained and supervised over 10 MSAT students and hydration specialists on proper athlete hydration. 


Prior to Merrimack, Day served as an Assistant Athletic Trainer at Connecticut College (September 2020-September 2021),  covering 28 varsity teams including travel, practices, games while also participating in educational seminars. Day worked on creating and implementing movement screenings and individualized corrective exercise programs to improve athlete performance and reduce injury risk. She also created educational podcasts and social media campaigns covering topics such as nutrition, mental health and mobility. 
 

Prior to Connecticut College, Day was a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer at Merrimack College (July 2019-May 2020) and she was the point of care for NCAA Division I Football, Women’s Ice Hockey and Men’s and Women’s Tennis. She documented and tracked player injuries and coordinated athletes dietary restrictions such as Crohn’s Disease and disordered eating. Day helped with hosting the Hockey East Championship weekend by coordinating ambulance coverage and being the liaison between athletic trainers and team physicians. She also accompanied the team on their trip to Belfast Ireland where she provided practice and game coverage. 
 

Day earned a Bachelors of Science degree in Sports Medicine and Athletic Training participating in clinical rotations with Yale University football, University of Virginia football and UMass football. She also earned a Master of Science degree in Sport and Exercise Science from Merrimack College.
