Ken Ildefonso Jr.
Ken Ildefonso, Jr. joined the Massachusetts Sports Medicine staff as head football athletic trainer in August 2025. He comes to Amherst from Miami University where he served as ab associate athletic trainer for the RedHawks’ football program for two years.

Prior to his time in Oxford, Ohio, Ildefonso, Jr. worked as the head athletic trainer for the Philadelphia Stars of the United States Football League from 2022 to 2023.

Ildefonso, Jr. also served as a seasonal athletic trainer at Virginia Military Institute (2021-22) where he worked with football, men’s and women’s swimming & diving and women’s water polo and as a graduate assistant athletic trainer for Minnesota State’s men’s and women’s cross country, track & field and football programs from 2013 to 2015.

Ildefonso, Jr. received his Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Southern Connecticut State University in May 2011. He earned his Master of Arts in Sport & Exercise Psychology from Minnesota State in 2013 and his Doctor of Philosophy in Kinesiology from University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 2023.
