Scott McLafferty
Scott McLafferty joined the Massachusetts staff after spending the last two seasons at Colorado State serving as head strength and conditioning coach. He joined the Colorado State staff in January of 2020 after the hiring of Steve Addazio.

McLafferty came to Fort Collins after a season at Boston College where he previously worked with Addazio.

Before his return at Boston College, McLaffety was the assistant strength and conditioning coach at the University of Texas for two seasons (2017-18). While at Texas, McLafferty worked with the football program, and was the assistant strength and conditioning coach for the BC football for five seasons.
 
Prior to his first stop at BC, he spent six seasons (2007-12) on the strength and conditioning staff at Rice where he served as the associate director of strength and conditioning. As associate director, McLafferty's duties included daily responsibilities working with the Rice football team, men's basketball, and the Owl's pitching staff. McLafferty was named associate director for football in February 2009, before the promotion, he was coordinator and head strength coach for the Rice men's basketball and men's and women's tennis teams for two years. 
 
McLafferty began his full-time strength and conditioning career as an assistant strength and conditioning coach at Louisiana Tech University in 2004, serving in that position for one academic year before being promoted to head strength coach for men's basketball program.
 
McLafferty held a position as a student assistant strength and conditioning coach at Oklahoma State University from 2001-04. 
 
He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), a certified member of the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCA), a member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association, the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Association and USA Weightlifting.
 
McLafferty is a native of Stillwater, Okla. He and his wife Sarah have two sons (Oliver and Maddox) and one daughter (Lydia).
