Tony Valentino joins the Minutemen football staff in August 2025 as an defensive graduate assistant. 

During the 2024 season, Valentino was the offensive assistant and offensive line analyst at Akron, helping break down opponent film and assisting in drill and meeting preparation. 

Prior to Akron, Valentino was an offensive graduate assistant, working primarily with the offensive line, at Springfield College for two seasons. There, he ran position meetings and drills for the offensive line, while seeing four All-Conference, four All-Region, three All-New England and two All-American offensive linemen. He also aided the team to a NCAA DIII Team of the Week honor and a 2023 national rushing title, while ranking second in 2022. He was a member of the two-time NEWMAC Coaching Staff of the Year in 2023 and 2022.  

Valentino also worked as an athletic tutor at the University of Alabama in 2021 for a year. He was previously a football operations intern from May 2019 to August 2019 for Yale.  

Valentino was an offensive lineman for Springfield College for four seasons. With the Pride, he collected Academic All-Conference honors all four years and was named to the NEWMAC All-Conference Team in 2018.  

Valentino, a North Haven, Connecticut, native, earned his bachelor’s in English in 2020 from Springfield College and received two master’s - one in English studies in 2022 from Alabama and one in athletic leadership in 2024 from Springfield College.
