John O’Connor Jr., joined the University of Massachusetts football program in the Spring 2018 as a student assistant, working primarily with tight ends coach Scott Woodward.
O’Connor is currently in his sophomore year at UMass and is majoring in psychology.
Before UMass, O'Connor grew up in his hometown of Wyckoff, N.J., where he graduated from Ramapo High School in 2017. He played football in high school and was a part of the 2015 Ramapo football state championship team and was the captain of the wrestling team in 2017.
O'Connor has one brother Ryan, along with his mother Kristi and his father the late John O’Connor, Sr.
