Four Soccer Players Earn All-Atlantic 10 Championship Team Honors

AMHERST, Mass. -- University of Massachusetts men's soccer players senior Seth Lilburn (Boonton, N.J.) and senior co-captain Patrick Beattie (Mobile, Ala.) received All-Atlantic 10 Championship Team honors, while junior Brook Bartlett (Clifton Park, N.Y.) and junior Julie Podhrasky (Dallas, Texas) earned a spot on the women's team.
The men's soccer team fell to Rhode Island 2-1 in sudden-death overtime in the semifinals of the Atlantic 10 Championship, on Friday, Nov. 3, in Kingston, R.I. UMass finished the season 12-6-2 overall and 8-1-1 in the Atlantic 10, earning a share of the regular season title. Lilburn scored with 43 seconds left in regulation on a penalty kick to force the game into overtime.
The women's team fell to Xavier 1-0 in overtime in the semifinals at Xavier's Corcoran Field, on Friday night. Podharsky, the Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the Year, recorded five saves in the game. UMass finished the season 11-7-1 overall and 7-2-1 in the A-10.
