Andrew MacDougall of the Boston Globe has a feature on Shadrach Abrokwah and his journey with UMass football from a walk-on to a starter. After joining UMass as a walk-on in 2013, Abrokwah started the final two games of the season turning in almost 100 yards a game. In the win over Eastern Michigan, the Worcester native had four rushing touchdowns and 135 yards to pace the Minutemen.

Dan Malone of the Springfield Republican spoke with offensive lineman Tyrell Smith following a recent practice for a five-question Q&A series. Smith is one of UMass' top returning linemen who is projected to be capable of putting together an all-conference level performance this season.

Dan Malone of the Springfield Republican ranks offensive tackle Tyrell Smith as his No. 5 player to watch for 2014. While Smith is still a young player as a redshirt sophomore, his move to tackle will be key for UMass' success this year after losing veterans Anthony Dima and David Osei.

Republican: Young, but promising @UMassFootball offensive line looks to continue improvement in 2014
Dan Malone of the Springfield Republican has a story looking at the UMass football offensive line which lost several key components to graduation last year in Anthony Dima, David Osei and Vincent Westcarr - each of whom started nearly every game in 2013. UMass improved its rushing average and sacks allowed total last season compared to 2012 which was the Minutemen's first season at the FBS level.

The UMass football offensive line is looking to fill the voids left by seniors Anthony Dima, David Osei, and Vincent Westcarr. Offensive line coach Shane Waldron and returning starters Matt Sparks and Tyrell Smith break down the unit's progression during spring practice following the Minutemen's workout on April 1.
