With the NFL Draft coming this weekend, Dan Malone of MassLive.com takes a look at where Jean Sifrin could likely be drafted. While no other Minutemen are likely to be drafted, Stanley Andre does have a strong chance of being picked up as a free agent. Malone also looks ahead to next year as several Minutemen are potential Draft prospects including Tajae Sharpe, Blake Frohnapfel, Jovan Santos-Knox and Randall Jette.

Randall Jette says the close games which were decided by single possessions showed progress for the program but also instilled a drive into the team during offseason.

Jovan Santos-Knox, Randall Jette and Trey Dudley-Giles all say the ingredients for success are there for the Minutemen.

Here is one particularly telling quote from Jette contained in the story:
"I've learned something from every coaching staff," said Jette, who is on his way to becoming one of the best players ever from Martha's Vineyard. "I've gotten better, but I've got a long way to go. You're never good enough. I'm lucky. I had older guys teaching me like Darren Thellen. I'm trying to be a good leader and pass it on like it was passed to me. I try to my best play in play out to set an example."

Junior cornerbacks Randall Jette and Trey Dudley-Giles hold down the No. 4 spot on the list. Malone sees the duo as the likely starting cornerbacks in 2014 and expects Jette and Dudley-Giles to cause havoc for opposing offenses in the secondary.

He says UMass will have to find a way to contend with that schematically in order to be successful.

We still have young guys coming in and trying to make an impact on the team somewhat like (last year's freshmen) did. That experience of me, Trey Dudley-Giles, Khary Bailey-Smith, D'Metrius (Williams), all playing as true freshmen, that can only help us for this year. I mean, we're all coming back. We're all healthy. We definitely learned from our experiences, whether it was at Michigan, at Vanderbilt. We're ready for it. We know what to expect and that helps our practice habits."

The cap is a soft shell with padding and air pockets which fits over the top of helmets and absorbs and deflects the force of a blow better to prevent injury due to repeated impact.
