Matt Vautour of the Daily Hampshire Gazette has a notebook covering several different UMass Athletics related items including the start of home events for baseball and softball. While Earl Lorden Field is still thawing out from the winter snow, softball's Sortino Field and the UMass Track & Field Complex will begin hosting events today. Additionally, Vautour has an update on Garber Field and mentions the selection of Cady Lalanne and Maxie Esho to the Portsmouth Invitational which is a tournament for college senior to showcase their skills in front of NBA scouts.
