Matt Vautour of the Daily Hampshire Gazette has a story looking at the bye week for UMass football and how it will help the Minutemen prepare for its nationally televised mid-week game against Ball State on Nov. 12 - a 16-day separation from the Toledo game.

Vautour states that coach Whipple gave the team four days off until having a team meeting on Thursday and practice on Friday. The coaching staff will also focus on recruiting during that time frame.
