Former @UMassHockey Defenseman Matt Irwin Has Big Night For @SanJoseSharks

Former UMass defenseman had a two-goal night last night to help the San Jose Sharks to a 6-5 overtime win over the Washington Capitals to improve their record to 3-0 to start the year.

Irwin became just the second former Minuteman to post a multi-goal effort in the NHL, joining Greg Mauldin who had four points (2g, 2a) against Minnesota on Nov. 27, 2010, while playing for the Colorado Avalanche.
