Republican: UMass is trying to cram in some last-minute basketball preparation

Ron Chimelis of the Springfield Republican has a story on the Minutemen using this week as a final tune-up as they adjust to a new up-tempo style of play. UMass opens the season on Friday at 9 p.m. against Elon at the Curry Hicks Cage.

"We're trying to instill in our guys that they have to be the aggressors from the minute they get off the bus,'' head coach Derek Kellogg said.
