Republican: UMass basketball is Brand X, a total mystery on eve of a season

Ron Chimelis of the Springfield Republican wrote over the weekend on the men's basketball team being a totally new look, or "brand", in 2011-12. He writes how the Minutemen have a new offense, new point guard, and new post player, combined with two closed scrimmages rather than open exhibition games, make what to expect from the Minutemen this season a bit of a mystery.

Well, the mystery will be revealed on Friday when Derek Kellogg's Minutemen host Elon in the season opener at the Curry Hicks Cage at 9 p.m.
