You'd likely come down with a case of the bends digging for a bright spot the Jets could hang their helmets on.
For former UMass superstar and Amherst native James Ihedigbo, that moment, his moment, came in the final two minutes of the first quarter of the Patriots 45-3 whitewashing of the Jets.
Inserted in the game to put pressure on Tom Brady, Ihedigbo did his job for a national television audience to see.
He sprinted from the end and drilled Tom Brady into the ground with feeling.
In a game marked by one disaster after another, Ihedigbo's sack was worth pointing out.
James is one of us. A local kid who played his college football at UMass. And it was great to see him get his moment in the national limelight.
