University of Massachusetts hockey coach Don "Toot" Cahoon has been encouraged by the growth of his young team and the effort his players have put in so far in this season. But as the Minutemen head into their fourth game of the year at 0-3-1 (0-1-1 Hockey East), he said his team needs to get a victory.
"It would be enormous. That's the positive feedback. I can put so many spins on this, but these kids want to feel fulfilled for all the work that they put forth," Cahoon said. "Winning is one of the most central pieces to this whole equation and it's where the fun is. We need to get some W's."
The Minutemen will try to break into the win column with a home-and-home series with Providence. The teams will play tonight at 7 at the Mullins Center and Saturday at 7 p.m. at Providence.
