Massachusetts Football Home Opener Updates

AMHERST, Mass. – Massachusetts Athletics has announced a series of updates surrounding the gameday experience ahead of the home opener at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 12 against Sacred Heart.

Clear Bag Policy

To help maintain safe and secure environments at the Mullins Center and McGuirk Alumni Stadium, UMass Athletics has implemented a clear bag policy that limits the size and type of bags permitted inside the venue.

The following bags are permitted:

Clear plastic, vinyl or PVC bags no larger than 14" x 6" x 14"
Small clutch bags no larger than 5" x 8" (clear bags are not required)
All other bags are prohibited but exceptions will be made for medically necessary items and diaper bags or other childcare-related bags, which are subject to inspection upon entry
There will be bag checks or storage available for prohibited items

McGuirk Alumni Stadium Updates

Following last spring's Commencement at McGuirk Alumni Stadium, Massachusetts Athletics launched Phase I of a multi-year, modernization of McGuirk Alumni Stadium.
The first parts of the project are addressing critical infrastructure needs while enhancing accessibility, safety and game-day operations and fan experience.
Phase I improvements include expanded ADA seating and accessibility enhancements, new ribbon boards and upgraded sound systems, targeted facility improvements that strengthen the overall game-day environment.
These upgrades represent the first step in a broader vision to modernize McGuirk Alumni Stadium while preserving one of the university's most recognizable athletic venues and are expected to be completed by October 1.

Ticket Information

Fans can purchase tickets online through UMassAthletics.com/Tickets, by calling 1-866-UMASS-TIX, or by visiting the Mullins Center Box Office.
Season tickets for the 2026 campaign are still available and remain the best value for fans planning to attend multiple games this fall as season ticket members also receive discounted parking and a variety of exclusive benefits throughout the season. Fans are encouraged to explore 2026 season ticket information and lock in their seats today by clicking here.
Discounted group tickets are also available for youth organizations, schools, businesses and community groups. Groups of 10 or more are eligible for special pricing, exclusive experiences, and videoboard recognition (click here for the group ticket interest form).
Youth tickets for children ages 12 and under are available in both the Prime and Reserved seating areas.

Parking Information

Advance parking passes are available for purchase through the UMass Athletics Ticket Office and online during the ticket purchasing process. Fans are encouraged to purchase parking in advance, as availability may be limited on gameday.
Parking purchased after arriving on campus on gameday, if available, is $30 for Sacred Heart, Stonehill, Eastern Michigan, and Miami (OH), and $25 for Ball State and Akron. Gameday parking sales are credit/debit card only, and availability is not guaranteed.
