Massachusetts Tennis Seeded First In MAC Championships

The Minutewomen will compete against No. 4 Miami (OH) on Saturday, April 25 in the Semifinals Round.
AMHERST, Mass. - University of Massachusetts tennis secured the No. 1 seed in the upcoming Mid-American Conference Championships after clinching the regular season champions title. The Minutewomen will begin their tournament action on Saturday, April 25 at 10 a.m. in the Semifinals Round against No. 4 seed Miami (OH).
The MAC championships will be played at Miami Tennis Courts in Oxford, Ohio, with Miami (OH) acting as host on Saturday, April 25 through Sunday, April 26. UMass earns the No. 1 seed for only the second time in program history, doing so in the 2000-01 season, and for the first time with head coach Juancarlos Nunez at the helm.
Massachusetts earned the regular season champions title after finishing with a 16-4 overall record and a 7-1 mark in the MAC. UMass went on an eight-match win streak, including a seven-match win streak in the conference, before falling to Toledo.
The Minutewomen look to earn its first MAC Championship title in their first season in the league, and their third overall conference championship title in program history.
