Massachusetts Men’s Lacrosse Trio Sweeps Atlantic 10 Weekly Awards

AMHERST, Mass. – University of Massachusetts men's lacrosse sophomore Jack Turowsky, sophomore Owen Salanger and freshman Colin Coyle have earned weekly honors from the Atlantic 10 after a 2-0 week for the Gorillas last week. Turowsky was tabbed the Offensive Player of the Week, Salanger the Defensive Player of the Week and Coyle the Rookie of the Week.
Turowsky led UMass in scoring last week with nine points on four goals and five assists including two man-up tallies. The East Longmeadow, Mass., native had two ground balls and a caused turnover. He logged a hat trick and two assists in an 18-8 win over UMass Lowell then had the game-winning goal and three assists in a 7-6 victory over Vermont.
Salanger posted a .639 save percentage and a 6.50 goals against average with two wins on the week. The Liverpool, N.Y. native made 13 saves against UMass Lowell and made 10 stops vs. Vermont, including one at the final buzzer to prevent the tying goal.
Coyle registered six points on a goal and five assists across the two victories. The Westfield, N.J. native totaled five points vs. UMass Lowell on a goal and four assists. He then followed up three ground balls and an assist against the Catamounts.
