Minutewomen Score Three Goals Unanswered, Defeat Dartmouth 3-2

HANOVER, N.H. -- No. 14 Massachusetts (6-0) continued it's undefeated start to 2025, claiming a 3-2 come from behind win over Dartmouth (2-1) on Sunday at Chase Field. The Minutewomen scored three goals unanswered including two in the final 10 minutes of regulation to secure their sixth win of 2025 
  
Massachusetts earned its 26th victory over the Big Green all-time, having claimed a 6-0 win last season in Amherst.  
   
Junior Kristy Leonard scored the first Minutewomen goal of the afternoon, intercepting a Big Green pass and turning it into an unassisted goal. The goal marks her first of the season and fifth of her career. 
 
Senior Mia Smith netted the equalizer, tipping home a sweeper pass from Neva Eisenga on a well-executed penalty corner. Just over a minute later Fiene Jenniskens notched the game-winning goal, sliding to tip home a pass from Gabrielle Benkenstein. The Eindhoven, The Netherlands native recorded her first career goal and sixth point of the 2025 season. 
   
The Big Green were led by Amelie Luessmann who scored two goals on the afternoon. 
  
Breaking Down The Action 
  • Dartmouth opened the scoring, as Amelie Luessmann tapped in a pass from Riley Dumigan with 11:21 to play in the first quarter. 
  • Luessmann tipped in another goal with 10:13 to play in the opening quarter, giving Dartmouth an early 2-0 advantage. 
  • Kristy Leonard picked off a pass in the offensive third and punctuated it with a goal to open the scoring for Massachusetts, cutting the deficit to 2-1 with 48 seconds to play in the first quarter. 
  • Massachusetts drew a pair of penalty corners in the second quarter, but could not narrow the deficit, going into the halftime break down 2-1.  
  • Elani Sherwood fired a shot off the post, narrowly missing the equalizer with 14:03 left in the third quarter. 
  • The Minutewomen converted a penalty corner with 8:33 to play in the third quarter, but the call was reversed upon official review. 
  • Massachusetts held a 5-3 advantage in total shots through three quarters of play, but Dartmouth maintained its 2-1 lead.  
  • Neva Eisenga connected with Mia Smith on a perfectly executed penalty corner to net the equalizer for Massachusetts, making the score 2-2 with  
  • Just over one minute later, Fiene Jenniskens secured the game-winning goal on a sliding deflection off a pass from Benkenstein with 7:29 to play in regulation. 
  • The final whistle sounded with the score 3-2 in favor of the Minutewomen.
